Some Tarot decks associate the number Eight with Justice, and some with Strength. I have chosen to associate the Eights with Strength because I feel this is the next character trait you need to maintain the choices you have made and the mature attitude you have developed, as expressed in the Sixes and Sevens.
The Eights reveal the kinds of strength you may develop within your consciousness. No one I know would actually try to control the lion by sheer physical power. However, we all can develop mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual strength to del with whatever life puts in our paths.
Wands
The Eight of Wands represents exploration. Think of arrows shot into the air, coming down in new locations. The new situation could involve a political appointment; an endeavor in process; or the ambition you have to achieve a future goal. This card advises you to consider your choices wisely.
Coins
The Eight of Coins represents fidelity. The truth will come out through this card, whether through a costly lawsuit; effective action in career; or distribution of an inheritance. The essence of the images involves skill that produces worthwhile results.
Swords
The Eight of Swords represents experience. You need strength to deal with loss of honor, business failure, or the legal settlement of a dispute. Here the balance between intellect and emotions is essential if you are to avoid feeling trapped.
Cups
The Eight of Cups represents self-sacrifice. Your capacity to walk away from those things that you feel you no longer need reflects inner emotional maturity. What goes around, comes around for you when you see this card, and you can achieve a feeling of contentment.
