The Aces

The Aces stand as four expressions of the energy of the Magician, and are metaphors for the four elements, the four Jungian functions, or themes of consciousness.

They show four ways for the ritual of the Magician to be worked out in the practical world. In addition, as ones they show the initial action of each of the elements. Text could describe the first step in processes, for example.

They represent the pure, raw power of each element, acting by itself (as much as that is ever possible), and they represent the conscious use of elemental power. Many decks have a hand coming out of a cloud, holding the implement.

They represent the directed power of the elements, free from any agenda.

Wands

The Ace of Wands reflects perfect mastery and control of the intuitive or spiritual world. This card in a reading suggests that you are on tope of your intuitive game. A document or letter may arrive. Work is the name of the game now.

Coins

The Ace of Coins reflects mastery of the material side of life. It can mean you control money and material things, or that you fully understand them at the present time. Money is only one frame of reference for you, though.

Swords

The Ace of Swords reflects intellectual control. Your logic and reasoning abilities are at top-level effectiveness now. Your will power serves to remove obstacles from your path.

Cups

The Ace of Cups indicates mastery of the emotional realm. This card in a reading suggests that you not only have emotional control; you also are fully capable of pursuing your own happiness. You home provides a central point of reference in your life.
